A strong shank so that it can take the stressful pushing and pulling without snapping. A eye that can be threaded without embarrassing yourself with bad words. Betweens are short and have a round-eyed. They are used to help make fine stitches in detailed handiwork or for quilting. Size 9 or 11 - Lightweight. Size 11 or 14 - Medium weight, Size 14, 16 or 18 - Heavy weight. Replace needles frequently as worn or damaged needles cause poor stitch quality. |
